The post by frizztext gave me an idea for this one.
This picture was taken at ‘Showa-no-mori’ in Matsuto, Japan.
‘Showa period ‘ exactly means about the years 1926–1989.
We , Japanese, are often apt to think 1960s-1980s, when we say “Showa”.
‘Showa-no-mori’ is a private museum about Japanese life in about 1950s-1980s.
The clocks were used in those days.

I always wished to own some of those clocks making a big bang-boing-bong-bung every hour – but I always only had enough money for small silent clocks, sometimes whispering ticke-tacke-ticke-tacke …
These days, I have never seen those kind clocks in Japan.
