The berry is Japanese Beautyberry .
Growing ripe, it becomes purple.
In Japanese , it is named Murasaki Shikibu for the first Japanese literary woman.
Murasaki is meaning purple in Japanese.
She is well known as the author of the Tale of Genji.
It is the first Japanese clasic novel, written about one thousand years ago.
